The high-voltage solid-state soft starter is a device used for starting high-voltage AC motors. It consists of multiple groups of high-voltage and high-power thyristors connected in series and parallel. By controlling the trigger angle of the thyristor, the output voltage can be controlled to meet the different voltage and current requirements during the motor starting process.
During the motor starting process, the medium and high voltage solid-state soft starter increases the terminal voltage of the motor according to the pre-set starting curve, so that the motor starts smoothly, thereby reducing the mechanical impact on the power grid and connected equipment during the motor starting. When the motor starts and reaches full speed, the bypass contactor or circuit breaker is turned on, and the motor starts.
During the operation of the motor, the soft starter continues to monitor the motor, measure the motor current and voltage in real time, and provide various protections.
